VISITS TO THE SHELTER ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

The shelter is closed to the public on the governors orders. We will be answering calls and taking care of the animals of Amelia County. If you need to surrender an animal please call the shelter. If there is an animal you would like to adopt please call and make an appointment. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we will continue to do what we can to help. If you have lost or found a dog please post them on Lost & Found Animals of Amelia County and you can still reach us at the shelter at 561-3878, or by email Ameliaanimalshelter@ameliacova.com As always if you have an after hours emergency please call the Sheriff's department at 561-2118.

The dogs at Amelia County Animal Control need our help! Please consider adopting, rescuing, networking and donating to help them find rescues/homes. Amelia County Animal Shelter is located in Amelia County, Virginia. They are a government run facility operated by the Amelia County Animal Control. Our Adoption fee is $10 and all our animals come with a low cost spay and neuter program ($5) thanks to a local Non-Profit, APAW - Amelia Patron's for Animal Welfare. Volunteers are always needed, and welcome!
